Our Mission

The Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum has a mission to preserve our rich medical heritage with particular attention given to Lancaster County. We strive to do this through exhibitions, educational scholarship, and research.

The Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum is dedicated to the preservation of our rich medical heritage. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We remember all, we encourage all, we support all and we acknowledge all.

Our research, done by student interns, medical and surgical specialists, local historians and others, has produced dozens of scholarly articles on the history of medicine and medical institutions in Lancaster county and surrounding areas.

The Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum is a great addition to the many historical and cultural institutions in Lancaster working to preserve and share this county’s unique history.

As Director of the Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum, Erin is honored to steward one of the region’s most unique cultural institutions—dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of healing in Lancaster County. With a background in American history, archival research, and strategic marketing, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to nonprofit leadership that blends storytelling, community engagement, and operational strategy.

In this role, Erin oversees museum operations, develops exhibits, coordinates public programming, and builds partnerships that amplify the museum’s mission. She’s passionate about making history accessible and relevant—whether through educational outreach, digital content, or collaborative research with students and medical professionals.

Her work is guided by the belief that history isn’t just what we preserve—it’s how we connect, inform, and inspire the community today.
